Summary of role:

Software developers who are excited about solving new problems. As a developer, work across the technical landscape from front& backend (HTML5 / JS / CSS) to architectural and business logic in various environments including Java/ .net / Oracle/ SQL.

We are looking for someone with a proven record of experience building scalable web applications and a vision for developing the technical products of the future.

Skills required:

Object-oriented best practices and software designs patterns.

Software architecture for websites, back office transactional systems and APIs (REST)

Experience with Agile teams and working in sprint cycles

Deploy and maintain apache and/or nginx based web applications

Experience in deploying web portals using JavaScript, HTML5

Assist with end-user support and Web application support

Define and recommend policies and procedures for system and services use

Experience with shell scripting in one or more of the following languages: Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, and PHP.

Strong software troubleshooting skills

Understanding of / Experience with DevOps a plus

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Software Engineering Practice as a Data Modeller, to work alongside our team and help build our Data Engineering capability. We are looking for someone with prior experience in Data Modelling, who is passionate about their work and can adapt to working within a versatile team, as well as having the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and clients.

Skills required:

Extensive experience of Data Modelling

Experience in understanding data and metadata

Knowledge of TDD/BDD

Summary of role:

Liaise internally / externally with team members and other key stakeholders to sufficiently capture testing requirements and test scenarios, which facilitate system and business process, testing, and deployment.

Actively contribute to planning - working with the Test Manager to ensure testing can be completed within the required timelines as defined in the test specification and project plans.

Define test cases to fulfil the requirements as defined in the test specification which are appropriate and proportionate and record themes in the JIRA test tool

Define test data, which will be required to undertake the test scenarios and publishing the information for review via Excel spreadsheets, macros and manual effort as appropriate

Communication - informing the test manager and other key stakeholders about the resources that will be required for software testing

Create or collect expected results using Excel spreadsheets, macros and manual effort as appropriate to allow the validation of test output against the agreed test scenario and as defined in the test specification.

Execute tests; take responsibility for the recording of evidence of the actual results of testing using JIRA and associated test tools

Evaluating the result - take responsibility to analyse each test cycle using spreadsheets and analysis tools highlighting variations, defects and impacts.

Timely and accurate reporting to the test manager and other key stakeholders

Train and mentor new starters as and when required Contribute to the Test Manager's Test Completion Report;

Where required manage (restore, back-up, upgrade) the regression test database.

Test Automation skills, including scripting, coding

Support test tools by managing, maintaining and improving the automation test tools and associated spreadsheets

Skills required:

Strong Stakeholder Management

Understanding of system testing, user acceptance testing (change specific and regression), working knowledge of non-functional (volume, performance, operational acceptance and security);

Experience of coding preferable - open to strong coders that are looking to transition into testing;

Strong, demonstrable Microsoft Excel skills, including Excel VBA;

Self-motivated, willing to take ownership of the planning and execution of testing tasks, with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines, and ability to deliver under pressure

Strong analytical skills;

Exceptional mathematical skills;

Communication skills and the ability to simply articulate complex subjects

Strong knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools like, and JIRA; and the Zephyr add in,

Familiar with Waterfall model, V-model, Agile (SCRUM), BDD software development model;

Be familiar with the software development life cycle, project management principles or equivalent project management mythologies such as but no limited to Waterfall and Agile.
